Let your child use it to explain concepts, brainstorm, or review, but not to write the essay or solve the problem for them. Clear rules, paired with strong underlying skills , turn AI into a tool instead of a crutch. Are kids really using AI for homework? Yes, and the trend is accelerating fast. A 2025 KPMG Canada survey found that 73% of Canadian students now use generative AI for their schoolwork, up from just 52% two years earlier. More telling for parents: nearly half of those students said their critical thinking skills had declined since they started using it, and many admitted their first instinct on a new assignment is to reach for AI instead of trying it themselves. Abbiamo tratto ispirazione dal loro impegno continuo nel mantenere attivi dei servizi anche quando le persone intorno a noi li chiamavano anacronistici: mentre la comunicazione pubblica si spostava nelle mani delle Big Tech, continuare a puntare tutto su siti aperti, senza paywall né algoritmi che ti tengono incollata; mentre i messaggi tra amici vengono macinati per nutrire profili commerciali usati contro di noi, continuare a mantenere servizi in cui il rispetto della riservatezza sia il cardine. È il genere di impegno che non regala facili gratificazioni, ed è facile credere di essere diventati irrilevanti. E quindi, come è successo che un piccolo collettivo che gestisce una decina di server diventa un'organizzazione terrorista? Una parte della risposta è che reprimere tutti i soggetti che non si rassegnano all'Internet che vediamo - l'internet mercificato, autoritario, ecocida - e al contrario costruiscono alternative, diventa un passaggio necessario per l'autoritarismo. Che il digitale, insomma, è il piano su cui i fascisti vogliono non limitarsi a vincere, ma stravincere. Dalla loro, possono contare su una rete tutt'altro che neutrale: il controllo dei domini Internet è sempre stato a guida statunitense, ma ha esibito per anni un atteggiamento neutrale; negli ultimi anni, invece, gli Stati Uniti stanno mostrando il loro controllo sulle infrastrutture di internet; Russia, Cina e altre nazioni si stanno sottraendo a questo strapotere, portando pero' la rete ad una progressiva balcanizzazione. La seconda parte della risposta richiede di guardare alla forma, anzi alla struttura. Allontanandoci finalmente dal gergo militaresco del Dipartimento di Stato (l'unico che sia in grado di esprimere, evidentemente) ci ricordiamo che A/I è un collettivo prima di un'infrastruttura; un gruppo di affinità e non un partito; un'insieme di pratiche di cura e certamente non una falange. E ci ricordiamo allora di Rote Hilfe, il gruppo di supporto legale della sinistra tedesca che alcuni mesi fa ha subito un forte attacco proprio dal sistema delle sanzioni: anche lì, ad essere intollerabile per il capitalismo non è solo l'antifascismo come analisi politica della realtà, ma l'antifascismo intrinseco nella capacità di organizzarsi dal basso per supportare le esistenze delle persone affini e non abbandonarle nelle mani del liberismo. I prossimi mesi ci dovranno vedere impegnatə a difendere questa esperienza. Bloccare sul nascere questo attacco, ed evitare la creazione di un precedente pericoloso, dipenderà dalla capacità collettiva di creare una mobilitazione che non si fermi a chi ha specificamente a cuore i temi dell'hacking e della tecnologia libera.
