Press Release – Artists in Residence Continue to Bring Color to Claremont
July 24, 2026: The Claremont MakerSpace is excited to announce mural artist and illustrator John Garoutte was selected as the Summer 2026 Artist in Residence. He takes the baton from Charlotte Lacoste who just completed her spring residency. For the first time, CMS has back to back fine artists producing murals as part of their residencies, and adding color to downtown Claremont in the process. Also, CMS is also proud to announce the summer program is sponsored by Canam Bridges , with their US facility located here in Claremont. Canam Bridges was involved in the opening of the makerspace in 2018 to help create the welding studio, and we are excited to renew the partnership. Come meet John, see some of his work, and learn about his residency plans during a Meet the Artist event scheduled Thursday August 6th, from 5pm to 7pm at the Claremont MakerSpace.
