Wood Lathe - Bowl Turning (22 Jul 2026)
If you’ve ever admired wooden bowls and wondered how to make them, here is your opportunity! We will guide you step by step through the process of turning your own bowl on the lathe with traditional turning tools. You’ll learn about stock selection, chucking, how to turn, lathe safety, and different bowl finishes. The cost of the class includes instruction as well as the wood to make the bowl, sandpaper, and finish. At the end of the day, you’ll have a bowl to take home! Length of class depends on students abilities, and can vary from 2 to 4 hours. What Not to Wear: Do not wear any dangling jewelry or lanyards that can get caught in machinery. Do not wear clothing with loose sleeves or draped or dangling elements that can get caught in machinery No open toe shoes (anywhere in the facility) Long hair and beards must be securely tied back. Currently face masks are recommended but not required the facility. A cotton cloth mask with ties instead of ear loops must be well secured with no dangling tie ends. We will provide: Eye protection and face protection Ear plugs if requested Materials for class projects CANCELLATION, CHANGE, AND REFUND POLICY This is a high demand event with limited spaces available. A request of change/cancellation must be received by email to info@fresnoideaworks.org 72 Hours prior to the event date to be eligible for a refund. Please note, a $15.00 processing fee will be assessed per cancellation from the total refund. Please do not open a dispute with PayPal... talk to us. Otherwise it fouls things up and refund can take up to a month. In the case Ideaworks must cancel a class, full registration fees based on the original form payment was made will be refunded.
