Woodshop Skills: End Grain Cutting Board (02 May 2026)

You've been asking for it, so here it is! End Grain Cutting Board Workshop Craft a stunning, heirloom-quality cutting board that’s as functional as it is beautiful. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll design and build your own end grain cutting board using a curated selection of premium hardwoods. Guided by an experienced instructor, you’ll learn techniques for cutting, glue-ups, clamping, sanding, and pattern design—transforming raw materials into a striking, custom piece perfect for your kitchen or as a gift. This workshop is ideal for makers looking to expand their skills and create something truly unique. Walk away with a one-of-a-kind cutting board, new woodworking skills, and the confidence to tackle future projects. All materials are included—just bring your creativity! ** Please note that, because of the limited variety of tools and machines used for this project, participants in the cutting board workshop do not qualify for a one-month conditional membership. For the same reason, this workshop is not a substitute for the beginner/refresher/safety woodshop class, necessary for approval to work unsupervised in the woodshop. What Not to Wear: Do not wear any dangling jewelry or lanyards that can get caught in machinery. Do not wear clothing with loose sleeves or draped or dangling elements that can get caught in machinery No open toe shoes (anywhere in the facility) Long hair and beards should be securely tied back. Currently face masks are recommended but not required in the facility. A cotton cloth mask with ties instead of ear loops must be well secured with no dangling tie ends. We will provide: Eye protection Ear plugs if requested Materials for class projects CANCELLATION, CHANGE, AND REFUND POLICY This is a high demand event with limited spaces available. A request of change/cancellation must be received by email to info@fresnoideaworks.org 72 Hours prior to the event date to be eligible for a refund. Please note, a $15.00 processing fee will be assessed per cancellation from the total refund. Regretfully, we are unable to issue refunds and/or credit for a missed class. All classes are required for completion of this project and you will forfeit your registration fees if missed. There are no makeup classes. Please plan accordingly. In the case Ideaworks must cancel a class, full registration fees based on the original form payment was made will be refunded.
