Endlich wieder Neues und Vergangenes aus eurem liebsten hafennahen Hackspace am Strelasund!

Anfang Oktober wollten wir mit unseren End of 10-Aktionen Hilfe anbieten, um ältere Computer anlässlich des Support-Endes von Windows 10 auf ein freies Betriebssystem auf der Basis von Linux umzustellen. Das ist uns auch gelungen, aber nicht bei so vielen Interessierten, wie wir uns erhofft hatten.

Members of Workshop 88 makerspace have been involved with hacker conventions and badge culture where they would design, program, fabricate and distribute badges at hacker conventions like THOTCON.

A lot of dust can be generated in the workshop, especially with power tools. The dust is neither healthy nor pleasant to breathe. Effective air filtration in small workshops need not be expensive or complicated, here we show how to make a cheap effective versatile air filter for dust and particles from a box fan, furnace filter(s), and 3-D printed clips (or the handyman’s secret weapon: duct tape).

Op 14 oktober is de laatste publiek beschikbare update voor Windows 10 uitgekomen. Na deze datum kun je geen publieke updates* van Microsoft meer krijgen. De oplossing die Microsoft aanbiedt, is het kopen van Windows 11. Helaas zal vooral oudere hardware dit niet ondersteunen en zou je eigenlijk nieuwe hardware moeten aanschaffen.
