It was last year during June that we moved to our new location. It was a huge job, but we are pleased with the fancy new space, with carpet and acoustic ceilings in most areas. Recently we decided to cut back on Open House events to first and third Thursdays, and have member focused event the other Thursdays. We have few open classes coming up this summer. Our MeetUp page is the best way to keep up with those.

Het is hoog tijd voor een update want er zijn in een (ruime) maand weer veel dingen gebeurd. Gelukkig vooral goede dingen. Allereerst hadden we nog niet vermeld dat 20 maart TDvenlo bij Venloopkids net als vorig jaar een kraam hadden in de grote tent en weer veel aanloop hadden van enthousiaste jeugd en ouders. Ook de open dag was dit jaar weer een groot succes. Mede door de festiviteiten die al in de stad waren , was er lekker veel volk op de been en mochten we weer veel bezoekers…
Salut, voici un projet réalisé avec la C.N.C. (Commande Numérique par Ordinateur) du « LOV » Sur du M.D.F. de chez Valchromat. Le M.D.F. est un acronyme pour Medium Density Fiberboard, il s’agit de bois en poudre mélangé à un liant puis pressé en plaque. Il est facilement usinable, léger et plus abordable que le bois massif. L’objectif est de fabriquer des modules de rangement pour des bijoux en creusant dans le M.D.F. à l’aide d’une C.N.C. Il a fallu programmer des trajets de coupe…
Mobile Makerspace has purchased a new property on Commercial Park Drive. We are in the process of preparing the new location and moving equipment. We expect to have our soft opening on May 11th 2024 and a grand reopening event on June 8th. Our facilities for visitors and members will be limited during this time while we transition. We are close to starting our 4 year immersion programs in Builder Science, Construction Management, and Civilization Construction – with the Seed Eco-Home 4 as the product. We are on our way to bootstrap GVCS development to completion by 2028. Take a look at the updated progress on the GVCS that I published today on the wiki and copied below, which puts the Seed Eco-Home and our larger goals a little more in perspective. I plan to re-engage on social media once I regain my ample spare time.
Over een paar weken is het weer zover. De laatste zaterdag van maart is weer gereserveerd voor een open dag in hackerspaces in heel Nederland. Natuurlijk doet TDvenlo ook weer mee om mensen te laten kennismaken met een hackerspace en al de activiteiten die er plaatsvinden. Over het algemeen denkt men vaak door het woord ‘hacker’ in hackerspace er alleen geleerd wordt om, al dan niet ethisch, in computersystemen in te breken, maar niets is minder waar. Last weekend was our big move weekend. We’d love for people to come see the new space, and we have an open night tonight where you can do just that.
We are still unpacking things, rebuilding furniture, tidying up, etc. Please forgive the mess, or even better, lend a hand with what still needs doing!
