My kids needed costumes for New Year’s party at school....



My kids needed costumes for New Year’s party at school. 2013 was a year dominated by Minions from “Indespicable Me 2”.

How hard can it be!? Apparently not to hard although time consuming. Heads - paper-mashes formed on a bouncy ball,  body - upholstery foam, lights - transistors buffered bicycle lights with additional LEDs.

Using 0.5mm ply, with the 40W lasercutter engrave settings at:

Work on the trailer mast by Paul and Tom continued in the good...



Work on the trailer mast by Paul and Tom continued in the good weather on Sunday. Most of the chassis has been scraped clean of rust and it’s about half painted.  To celebrate we moved the X-50 antenna to the mast and set it upright. Even unextended it’s a reasonable height off the ground and can open most of the repeaters around London.  Using the club call sign (M0HSL) we made the second ever recorded contact using a Yaesu FT-857.
