Arduino Day - Halloween Bling Edition

A big round of thanks to everyone involved in our second free community workshop. The students were great and the contributions of many knowledgeable and helpful Guild members really made the event a big success.

Circuitry 101 - Our First Workshop

Last week we held our first public, free workshop for students. It was a great success. After introductions and a tour of the Makerspace, we sat down to discuss safety and the basics of circuitry. There are over 36 churches within 1 mile of Downtown Wilmington. Wow. Pretty impressive, considering half of that area is river and swamp. The letter pictured below went out to them all on June 23rd. We'll let you know what they say.

Visit to SplatSpace

On June 19th (aka Father's Day), Scott Hall, one of the founders of SplatSpace, Durham, NC's Makerspace, was kind enough to take 3 hours from his day to show me around the facility and sit down with me and chat about the things that go into a successful Makerspace.
