MakerKids New STEM After-School Pick-Up Program

🇨🇦 · Maker Kids · Samantha Dinelle

June 5, 2026 | MakerKids Team The school year fills up quickly between homework, activities, transportation, and finding quality after-school programs that kids genuinely enjoy after the school day ends. That is exactly why the new MakerKids STEM After-school Pick-up Program was designed for busy Toronto and Mississauga families looking for something structured, engaging, and practical. MakerKids has officially launched registration for the upcoming school year, with trusted school pick-up included, hands-on STEM activities, homework help, and extended care options for ages 5-12. Designed for families in Toronto and Mississauga, the program combines c oding , r obotics , Minecraft , and after-school care into a consistent weekday routine that supports both learning and convenience. A Convenient After-School Program for Toronto and Mississauga Families One of the biggest challenges during the school year is coordinating schedules between work, school dismissal, and extracurriculars. The MakerKids STEM After-school Pick-up Program helps simplify that routine by including school pick-up directly from select schools. Students are safely brought to MakerKids, where they transition into a structured program featuring STEM activities and supervised support. The program runs Monday to Friday from 3:30-5:30PM, with optional extended care available until 6PM. For many families, that flexibility makes a major difference during the week. STEM Activities Kids Actually Look Forward To The program is built around interactive projects designed specifically for elementary-aged students. Throughout the week, kids explore coding, robotics, Minecraft, engineering challenges, and creative technology activities in small group environments with live instructors. Activities are designed for Grades 1-8 and adapted by age and experience level. MakerKids programs already align closely with Ontario’s coding curriculum , making the after-school environment feel educational without feeling like extra schoolwork. Students may spend one afternoon designing games in Scratch , another building with robotics hardware, and another working through Minecraft engineering challenges using logic systems and redstone concepts. The variety helps keep kids engaged throughout the week while introducing real technology skills in an approachable way. For families looking for educational after-school activities, the program provides an environment where learning and creativity happen every day. Homework Help Included The program also includes dedicated homework support time built into the schedule. After STEM projects and creative activities, students can complete homework with guidance nearby. For younger students, especially, having structure during those after-school hours can make the entire evening at home feel smoother. Built for Different Interests and Experience Levels Not every child arrives already interested in coding or robotics, and the program is designed with that in mind. Some students love Minecraft. Others are more interested in designing, building, storytelling, or experimenting with technology for the first time. MakerKids has spent years building beginner-friendly STEM programs that keep students comfortable trying new things while still challenging returning students with more advanced projects. Programs are grouped by age and skill level for students in Grades 1-8, including Mini Makers for younger students and more advanced learning paths for older kids interested in Python, game development, AI concepts, and Unreal Engine . That progression helps students continue building confidence year after year, rather than outgrowing the material after one session. A New STEM After-School Pick-Up Program for Toronto and Mississauga Families Registration for the 2026/27 school year is now live on the MakerKids website. Families who register before June 30th can receive 12% off the full year through the Early Bird offer. The new MakerKids STEM After-school Pick-up Program combines trusted school pick-up, homework help, coding, robotics, Minecraft, and STEM activities through a single after-school program designed for ages 5-12 for Toronto and Mississauga families.
