Meshcore Workshop @ Pixelbar Rotterdam
Interested in Meshcore? It doesn’t matter if you are new to this or if you have sent hundreds of messages already. Everyone is welcome! What to expect In this workshop, we’re going to flash a meshcore companion device. And use it to send out our first messages. For the more advanced Meshcore users, we’re going to go over how to manage a repeater, and how to perform an ‘over-the-air’ update. Preparations It’s not required to bring your own hardware, but if you want to fully participate, we recommend: A meshcore companion device, like a Heltec v3//v4, or a LilyGO T-Deck. There will be a few SenseCAP Trackers available for people without a device. A laptop ( Windows / Mac / Linux) to flash the device. For more advanced users, a meshcore repeater device, to practice an OTA update At the end of the workshop, you’ll be ready to send messages in the Meshcore community! Location The Meshcore Workshop is hosted at Hackerspace Pixelbar. We are at Schiemond 20, 3024 EE Rotterdam. This is inside “De Kroon”, follow the signs for K14. If you’re coming with public transportation: you can go to Tram stop Schiemond or Metro Station Delfshaven and then walk towards the harbor. To access the space you need to go up a set stairs, we sadly don’t have an elevator. International Open Hackerspace Day – Pixelbar!
It’s that time of the year again! On Saturday, March 28, hackerspaces around the world will open their doors, and of course, Pixelbar is joining in! 🚀 Ever wondered what happens inside a hackerspace? Do you think all hackers sit in the dark staring at screens filled with green code? Or are you just curious to see where Pixelbar is located? A hackerspace is a community-driven playground where technology, creativity, and innovation come together. Whether you’re into electronics, programming, 3D printing, laser cutting, DIY projects, or just love to do stuff with cool tech, this is the place to be! But finding your way around might not always be straightforward… Keep an eye out for the Pixelbar Signs — they know the way! During International Open Hackerspace Day, our members will be happy to: ✅ Show you around and introduce you to the world of hackerspaces ✅ Demonstrate awesome projects they’ve been working on ✅ Introduce you to our tools and equipment that you can use as a visitor ✅ Answer all your burning tech questions (yes, even “Is this USB stick safe to plug in?” 😉) ✅ Maybe even help with a project you bring along! 📍 Location: Pixelbar, Schiemond 20, 3024 EE, Rotterdam (inside De Kroon – just follow the white rabbits!) 🕝 Open from 13:37 until 18:00 (stay as long as there are people around!) 💸 Entrance is free, ring the intercom at the entrance of De Kroon and people will open up the door Even after official hours, some members may still be around. CQWPX contest 2026
Het weekend van 28 + 29 maart is er weer een grote SSB contest: de CQWPX (CQ World PrefiX). Vanuit PI4D nemen we ook deel, rekening houdend met het beperkte aantal antennes dat beschikbaar is. Robotik im BFZ – Unsere Teams bereiten sich auf die WRO vor
Seit Anfang des Jahres dreht sich im Bildungs- und Forschungszentrum Berlin e.V. alles um das Thema Robotik. In unseren Workshops bauen Kinder und Jugendliche eigene Roboter mit LEGO Mindstorms und LEGO SPIKE und lernen dabei Schritt für Schritt, wie Technik und Programmierung zusammen funktionieren. Gemeinsam entwickeln die Teilnehmenden kreative Lösungen für verschiedene Aufgaben: Die Roboter werden gebaut, programmiert, getestet – und anschließend immer weiter verbessert. Dabei sind Teamarbeit, logisches Denken und natürlich jede Menge Spaß gefragt. Aktuell bereiten sich unsere Gruppen auf die World Robot Olympiad (WRO) vor. In der Wettbewerbskategorie RoboMission programmieren die Teams ihre Roboter so, dass sie ein Spielfeld selbstständig meistern und verschiedene Aufgaben autonom lösen. Unser Ziel ist es, in diesem Jahr ein bis zwei Teams an den Start zu bringen. Der Wettbewerb findet am 09. Mai in Berlin statt – und wir freuen uns besonders, dass das Bildungs- und Forschungszentrum Berlin e.V. wie jedes Jahr Mitausrichter dieses spannenden Robotik-Events ist. Bis dahin wird weiter gebaut, programmiert und getestet. Die Motivation der Kinder ist groß – und wir sind gespannt, wie sich unsere Teams beim Wettbewerb schlagen werden.
