Burning Man is just days away! We’d like to thank all of our theme camps and Makers on job well done this year. You may still be trying to recover from the scrapes, bruises and sleep deprived brains, but soon it will hopefully all be worth it as you enter the Gates. We can’t wait to see your projects out in the desert. You can find the fine folk who are NIMBY Makers all over the Playa. Use this handy list to mark your map of Black Rock City so you don’t miss a single thing. If you have early entry, stop by the camps. They’ll love for stopping by to say hi, but they’ll love you more if you lend a hand. Don’t forget to tune into BMIR Radio at 94.5 FM to catch Ken Griswa as you wait in line, set up camp, or bounce about BRC. Art Pieces & Art Cars ● Airpusher – Steampunk AirShip with a full sound system and 50 foot light up blimp, roaming nightly ● BAAAHS – Sheep bus with full sound system and LED light system roaming day and night ● BackFire – located at 715 & C – features a range of art pieces including, small scale atmospheric water generator machine, LED sculptures and sound pieces created by the 6 Second Monks ● Camp Space Hole – located at 445 & E – has a Misting & Cool Off Zone daily and features an LED Globe and other art pieces ● Cloud Nine – rolling cloud car featuring LED lights and good times roaming daily ● Cuddle Shuttle – by Tarek Salman – art car featuring blacklight and glow in the dark reflective paint job and sound system, roaming nightly ● Dr. BrainLove – Art car featuring a climbable, brain shaped, LED jungle gym, and a full sound system, roaming nightly ● Fireball Shooting Gallery – Interactive Art Piece with propane powered shooters– Operating: Sunday 9:30pm to 1:30am and Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday 10pm to 2am, located in the Inner Playa ● La Musa de Da Vinci – by Miikel Haynes and Elizabeth Mallory – sculpture in the Inner Playa “in front of the Man” around 530 ● Moonwalk Mission – 16’ Crescent Moon sculpture and hang out space, located at 945 & L ● Mystic Flyer – Art car featuring artwork by Android Jones, 10,000 LED light panels and Mystic Merkaba – roaming nightly ● Pipe Dream – located at …….. large scale, adult sized jungle gym ● Psychadelic Elephant – Multi Colored, Elephant shaped art car, LED lit at night, roaming the Playa nightly ● Tiki Barge of Crabs & Sirens – Tiki Art Car by Xin (pronounced: Shin) Yang – roaming daily ● You’ll Do Detective Agency Mobile Unit – 70’s inspired, LED lit art car – taking new cases all week – don’t find them… they’ll find you Events & Experiences Daily ● Airpusher camp, located at 7 & D, features a bar serving daily and special events ● The Hangry Bishop , located at 230 & D, serving grilled cheese daily at 230pm ● Dr. BrainLove ’s group The Phage will be holding science and art based talks at the Institute all week – located at 5 & Esplanade ● Bring a Pheromone , scent based interactive display, such as the Armpit Sniffing Booth, located at 845 & D ● Mystic Flyer – located at 2 and Esplanade will have daily events in their Mystic Theater and Healing Dome ● Monkey Love – located at 2 & I – large scale sound scamp featuring 25’ tree sculptures and modified shipping container hang out and dance platforms – nightly dance parties ● You’ll Do Detective Agency – solving your Playa mysteries all week – they’ll find you Monday ● BAAHS is having a dance party called Beat Freq, rolling out of BAAAHS Station (8 & H) at 10pm Tuesday ● Airpusher is bringing the Steampunk Masquerade to the Playa – @ Black Rock Lighthouse in the Open Playa ● BAAAHS is hosting the Queerest Playa Art Crawl EVAH – rolling out of BAAAHS Station (8 & H) and around the Inner Playa at 1pm ● BAAAHS is participtating in Ultraviolet – a black light party starting at 10pm at the Family Jewels art piece in Inner Playa ● BrainLove – Inner Playa Party, starting at 730pm just off 5 & Esplanade Wednesday ● BAAAHS is participtating in the BRC Baby Rave- an all night dance party starting at 10pm at the Family Jewels art piece in Inner Playa ● Psychadelic Elephant participating in an Art Car Round up – Time & Location TBD Thursday ● Airpusher – Sunset Happy Hour @ Arborealis, Inner Playa, starting roughly 11 o’clock ● BrainLove’s Sisya Excursion and art tour, leaving from the Phage (5 & Esplanade) at Noon Friday ● BAAAHS is participtating in Honey Dusted- an all night dance party starting at 10pm at the Family Jewels art piece in Inner Playa ● Backfire is hosting a reactive art sensors, light, and vibration based experience from 8pm to 11pm (715 & C) Special shout out to two of our newer tenants at the warehouse: Jordan Roggenbuck and Colin Creveling.
