Summer 2013 Update

🇺🇸 · HacroEvolution · Andrew Frey for U.S. Senate

If you would like to be a founding member of the MHK Hackerspace, now is the time. Meetings are by invitation only, but so far I haven't needed to turn anyone away. I am scheduling meetings around the availability of current core membership (it happens that the most interesting people are also the busiest). Contact me indicating related interests, project interests, and any skills you may have; and I'll answer any questions you may have, and if you prefer, I might assist as an intermediary to facilitate collaboration and publish project ideas, progress, etc. With $10,000 worth of carefully-selected equipment coming available to friends of the 'Free Source Makers and Inventors' (KSU student group) in the next month, NOW is the time to get involved. I will be attending MakerFaireKC http://www.makerfairekc.com/ on the 29th and 30th of this month, with a couple other MHK hackerspace folks. It looks like a very inspirational and creative event. I am excited to attend.

Welcome to the Danbury Hackerspace

🇺🇸 · Danbury Hackerspace · DanburyHackerspace

The Danbury Hackerspace @ the Innovation Center is a non-profit makerspace and coworking facility at 158 Main Street, connected to the Danbury Library. The City of Danbury has graciously provided the space for the hackerspace and to build a community of entrepreneurs, makers, craftspeople, & artists. Over the past 10 years we have helped hundreds of entrepreneurs, artists, and makers start, build, and grow their companies. Stop by our free open houses every Thursday night from 7-10pm except holidays. For more information contact danburyhackerspace@gmail.com . What is a hackerspace? Mayor Mark wrote a blog post about hackerspaces : “Well the best way to describe one is a place where people can congregate, exchange ideas, and make use of the technology that is there to improve on their ideas. The ideas could range from computer programming to manufacturing, digital art and electronic art to assembly and design skills.” If you’re interested in learning more about the Danbury Hackerspace, follow us on Twitter , Like us on Facebook , or see our events on Meetup .
