Voyage of Discovery

A while ago I saw a post on a local Facebook page saying

“Help wanted from any local knitting group. One of the ladies in our sight loss club with sight loss is in need of help to carry on with her knitting. She had a gauge with Braille capability that enabled her to identify the size of the needles but unfortunately it broke and she has not been able to find a source of getting a replacement. She’s tried RNIB & Sight Cymru to no avail. If by any…

The bad news: back to the drawing board Easel We made more progress this week with our Shapeoko2 CNC machine. But first the bad news: we can’t use the Carbide Command software to run it. Carbide is the manufacturer of the Shapeoko machines. Their software doesn’t support anything older than the Shapeoko3. So… we’re still […]

Getting ready for CNC at ylab

Our latest equipment donation is a Shapeoko CNC machine. Thank you Jedi Jay! After an initial shake-town and successful testing by ylab member Craig and his accomplice Shari, they came in and gave us a quick overview of its operation. Ben Franklin Phone Available for Sale

Ben Franklin – Patriot and Inventor

2022 is destined to be another year of big changes!

As part of this, Rippowam Labs has made the decision to consciously decouple itself from Big Tech and we’ve dumped our old Android phones in favor of GrapheneOS!

GrapheneOS is a flavor of the Android operating system that has NOT been co-opted by Google and/or Facebook (why can’t I delete that app anyway?). There’s no reason they have to know every little thing about our lives and we decided to…
