Winter 2023/24 Update

South East Maker-space (SEMS) formally disbanded as a separate entity in 2023. Ultimately we did not have the numbers required to maintain viability.

However, we are pleased to announce our new relationship with the Men’s Shed movement.

We are formally affiliated with the Ferrybank Men’s Shed. This allows much of the work to continue at a new site. Equipment has been moved and the site continues to develop.

For clarity: Membership of SEMS via Men’s Shed is open to all genders.

We are in the process of moving to a new location.

the old space at Thomas Hill has changed ownership. Please do not enter the Space.

Members: please contact the Secretary to verify your vaccination status before attendance. You cannot share the Space, not attend in-person meetings/meet-ups without this.

Unvaccinated members can use the booking system to avail of exclusive, undisturbed access to the Space for themselves (or household) on a per-day basis. You…

Culture Night – 20th Sept

Giant Connect 4 – Have Fun! Bot Workshop – Drop in & participate

South East Makerspace (SEMS) will open it’s doors to the public from 7 to 10pm on Culture Night, Friday 20th September.  

Come join us, meet our makers and participate in making your own bots, a family friendly workshop taking place from 7.30 – 9pm.

Have fun playing our giant Buzz Wire and giant Connect 4 games. Check out other members finished projects and works in progress.

Make your own buzz wire game during this creative electronics workshop that provides a hands-on introduction to the science behind powering, wiring and using basic electronic components like LED’s and Piezo Buzzers.

This fun workshop will allow each participant to take home the buzz wire game they make.
