On October 6th, Lowell Makes hosted the inaugural Backyard Business Expo, a vibrant evening that brought together members of the local business community and the maker community to explore the incredible opportunities available at Lowell Makes.

The event was designed to foster collaboration, creativity, and connection—showcasing how local businesses can leverage the talents, skills, and tools of our makers and makerspace to grow and innovate.

On Monday, October 6 from 4–7 PM, Lowell Makes is hosting the Backyard Business Expo — an evening of networking, demonstrations, and community connections.

From laser engraving and sticker printing to digital marketing tips and video production for social media, you’ll see firsthand how local makers and artists can help support and grow your business. The event is free, open to the public, and a great way to meet fellow entrepreneurs and community members.

The 8th annual Lowell Kinetic Sculpture Race brought 15 wildly creative, human-powered machines to the streets of downtown Lowell, navigating everything from Bone-Shaker Alley to the Maddening Mud Pit and a paddle through the Merrimack River.
