Context and background

Let’s set up a server running Nextcloud and Collabora Office inside the space. This will allow for:

• easily sharing documents
• creating project documentation that can then be shared publicly
• create spin-off applications that interact with a nextcloud ecosystem. Think of a sports tracker (who are we kidding?) shopping list app that stores its data in a nextcloud folder instead of a centralized service)
• see if we can do something with the SOLID concept that the Flemish…

Context and background

A desktop computer is being set up in the space allowing to turn it on, having all the basics to stream to the social media channels of choice. This can be used for local events, or for events organized by others in our space.

• computer, dual screen (currently only one attached), mouse, keyboard
• webcam (Logitech 720 - from Wouter)
• HDMI grabber
• green screen (needs to be set up - from Jurgen)

OctoPi is a simple interface for managing (an) 3D-printer(s).
Currently a base install is done on a RasPi with a PiCam.
The device can be reached internally at http://octopi.in.hsbxl

Endgoal:
- The idea is to be able to send .stl files to the printer
- The idea is that users can log in with their LDAP account

Replication Adding hosts

When you want to give shell access to a Linux desktop/server you install to HSBXL userbase, there are a few needed steps:

• Request a machine account in the ou=machines,dc=hsbxl,dc=be organizational unit
• apt-get install libpam-ldapd
  • Give the IP address of the LDAP server (currently 192.168.255.1)
  • Give the base DN (dc=hsbxl,dc=be)

• a basic understanding of how 3D printers like the Lulzbot and Ender 3 Pro work
• the basic steps of creation: design file, save as an STL file, slice to a gcode file
