EMFCamp 2018 Hackspaces Roundtable

EMF Camp brings lots of makers, hackers and hackspace members together for a long weekend of skill sharing, installations and well deserved geeking out. As such it meant there would be a high concentration of directors and trustees, current and former, who would be willing to share a bit about their corner of the world. Bob Brown’s Readie Machine: The Workshops

This is part 2 of the Bob Brown’s Readie Machine series. Check out part 1.

The project is being spearheaded by Eric White of the American Literature department of Brookes University. To get a better feeling about the scope of the project please see his talk at TEDxWhitehall earlier this year.

As part of doing outreach for the project the team organised a series of workshops in collaboration with the County Council Libraries Makerspace in the Westgate Shopping Centre aimed at 12-18 year olds.

Makespace Oxford launch day

We’re finally here! Thanks everyone who’s worked their asses off to get this project going!

Bob Brown’s Readie Machine

During the last week I’ve been working on building a replica “e-reader” inspired by a concept from the 1930’s, initially designed by Bob Brown, an american inventor and writer.
