F.U.C.K. – FLINTA* und Computer Kram – richtet sich an alle Frauen, Lesben, Intergeschlechtliche, nichtbinäre, trans und agender Personen, die sich für Computer, Hardware, Hacken, Basteln, Coden, Löten und allen anderen ähnlichen Kram interessieren.

Inspiriert von Heart of Code und dem CCC München wollen auch wir einen Raum schaffen, in dem sich FLINTA* frei von Ängsten und Vorurteilen über Computer Kram austauschen und lernen können – egal ob du noch ganz am Anfang stehst, oder schon mittendrin bist, du bist herzlich willkommen!

Join us as we all try to make the tiniest dioramas in actual organic egg shells.This is not your typical craft class. Make-Along is a self-guided craft workshop where participants learn new skills, explore new materials, and make great things!

March's Topic: Miniatures—Egg Dioramas
Inspired by a weird old book we found, this month you'll make 1700's style hollowed out egg dioramas only we'll be using dremels. Consistently one of our weirdest and most fun yearly make-alongs! If you've ever wanted to see egg-contents shoot 20 feet this is the make-along for you! Join us as we all try to make the tiniest dioramas in actual organic egg shells and fill our worlds with creatures and landscapes.
Are you a beginner? We'll provide eggs, figurines, miniatures, and items to help make your dioramas your own.
Are you a master? Show off your skills and inspire others! Bring a project, use our materials, and hang out in a great space while doing what you love.
This class will lead by NYC Resistor member Colleen.

Parallel findet auch weiter der klassische LoRa Abend zeitgleich und zusammen statt. Das passiert nun alles zusammen an einem Abend, die thematischen Überschneidungen sind sehr groß.

Oferujemy warsztaty, dyskusje, projekty z zakresu IT, Linuxa, programowania, Sztucznej Inteligencji, bezpieczeństwa komputerowego, elektroniki i wielu innych. A gdy mamy wolny czas, rozmawiamy nawet o eksploracji kosmosu czy filozofii.
Ważne dla nas jest, aby nasza przestrzeń była otwarta dla wszystkich. Dlatego nasza zasada to: "Be excellent to each other!"

The Human Cost of AI

"Die menschlichen Kosten der KI" In diesem Vortrag erörtert Mophat Okinyi, was für eine hohe psychische Last das Trainieren von KI und das Filtern von schädlichem/illegalem Material für Menschen bedeutet, die diese Arbeit leisten.

Mophat Okinyi ist ein anerkannter Experte auf dem Gebiet des maschinellen Lernens und der künstlichen Intelligenz. Als einer der vielen Techworker in Nairobi war er maßgeblich am Training der Daten beteiligt, die während der Entwicklungsphase von ChatGPT zum Herausfiltern illegaler oder schädlicher Inhalte verwendet wurden.

Als Menschenrechtsaktivist, Vorstandsmitglied der African Content Moderators Union und CEO der Techworker Community Africa setzt sich Mophat für faire Arbeitsbedingungen und die berufliche Entwicklung afrikanischer Techworker ein. Eines seiner Hauptanliegen ist die Wahrung der Menschenwürde bei der Entwicklung von KI.

“The Human Cost of AI” to discuss how training data for machine learning and filtering out harmful/illegal materials from social media platforms have a great mental toll on the folks doing such work.

Mophat Okinyi is a recognised expert in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence. As one of the many techworkers in Nairobi, he was instrumental in training the data used to filter out illegal or harmful content during the development phase of ChatGPT.

As a human rights activist, board member of the African Content Moderators Union and CEO of Techworker Community Africa, Mophat is committed to fair working conditions and the professional development of African techworkers. One of his main concerns is the preservation of human dignity in the development of AI.

Start creating beautiful interactive, and immersive generative media by learning the underlying logic and workflows of the program.TouchDesigner is a real time generative graphics application that can be used for anything from generating graphics using dynamic noise data in real-time to audio-responsive 3D geometry. We’ll go through multiple examples of how to start creating beautiful generative content in TouchDesigner. Interactive, immersive, generative media is the reason you’re investing in learning TouchDesigner, and this class helps you get started creating it right away!
In the class we will discuss the fundamentals of the TouchDesigner. If you have never used a node-based programming environment before, this class is for you. I walk you through the basics of TouchDesigner logic and workflows, explaining exactly what nodes and wires are and how they work. This includes a walk through of the basic settings and preferences you can leverage in TouchDesigner that set you up for success and make your life easier.
We will learn about all six of the operator families used by TouchDesigner, and how they integrate with the TouchDesigner workflow. I’ll walk you through an example project for each of them.

Woody Poulard (aka GRNCH) is a Brooklyn-based artist/musician whose work focuses on generative audio-reactive visual installations and performances. He uses creative coding applications like TouchDesigner to generate real-time visuals, Blender for 3D design, and Ableton for music production. Trained in both audio and mechanical engineering, Woody also makes physical sculptures using digital fabrication techniques like 3D printing, laser cutting, and CNC routing. GRNCH’s visuals use elements of abstract, futuristic, and hypnotic scenery, often paired with his signature sound: dark, cinematic, suspenseful techno and broken beat.

Fotografie Workshop mit Karo - richtet sich an alle Frauen, Lesben, Intergeschlechtliche, nichtbinäre, trans und agender Personen, die sich für Computer, Hardware, Hacken, Basteln, Coden, Löten und allen anderen ähnlichen Kram interessieren.

Inspiriert von Heart of Code und dem CCC München wollen auch wir einen Raum schaffen, in dem sich FLINTA* frei von Ängsten und Vorurteilen über Computer Kram austauschen und lernen können – egal ob du noch ganz am Anfang stehst, oder schon mittendrin bist, du bist herzlich willkommen!

Die F.U.C.K. Gruppe wird sich 2-wöchentlich sonntags von 18 - 21 Uhr treffen, immer in den ungeraden Wochen, falls nicht anders angekündigt.

In this three hour class, you will learn:
How to set up a file for cutting on the laser cutter in Inkscape or Adobe Illustrator.Laser cutter safety including materials testing.Laser cutter operation including configuration, cuts and raster etching in common materials like wood, acrylic, cardboard and others.At the end of class, you will go home with:
One laser cut project, either the class default or a simple one of your own design (see below for details)Resistor Laser Certification, enabling you to use our laser on Craft Nights.Please bring the following to class:

The following items are optional if you'd like to try cutting a simple custom design. An SVG vector file of a simple shape you'd like to cut for your first cut. A piece of 1/8 inch or thinner wood, acrylic or cardboard you'd like to cut. If you can't bring your own material, small pieces will be made available, or larger pieces for purchase on site.Please be on time for the start of class! If you're late you will miss your slot.

Parallel findet auch weiter der klassische LoRa Abend zeitgleich und zusammen statt. Das passiert nun alles zusammen an einem Abend, die thematischen Überschneidungen sind sehr groß.

The purpose of this group is to take the increasingly impressive technical results coming out of AGI and share, contextualize and explore.The event:
this is an artificial general intelligence work group. the reason the term agi has been chosen over, say, machine learning, or artificial intelligence, or generative ai is because those terms have become more to do with the industrial use cases of certain human capacities rather than to do with the exploration of how information and knowledge are navigated by minds. the topics of machine learning and neural networks are still crucial. in fact, the purpose of this group as far as there is one is to take the increasingly impressive technical results coming out of those fields and contextualize them within social, aesthetic, psychological, economic, etc, paradigms we find ourselves within.
if you have found yourself drawn to the ideas that are expressed in books like /godel escher bach/, /the machinic unconscious/, /the lathe of heaven/, /the dispossessed/, /metaphors we live by/, /the c programming language/, and/or the nsa/ncsc rainbow series, show up. if you find yourself in awe of 256 byte demos, neural annealing, the edges of perception, or/and langsec, come by.
bring a piece of text you find interesting, bring a song, bring some code, bring some funny little puzzles, bring questions and maybe someone else will have brought an answer. this intends to be a collective conversation and action.
The host space:
In the tradition of NYC Resistor's early Microcontroller Study Group, we are happy to provide our hacker space for meeting to explore emerging technology.
Who is the group for?
this group is for anyone interested in both deep diving on the newest technical advances and the wildest implications of those new technical developments. come with a willingness to share your perspective and your work in whatever form of expression it might take. if you use machine learning in your art, come. if you work on ASIC accelerators come. if you are obsessed with experience itself, come. if you care about people and their relationship to each other and the tools they use, show up!
The suggested donation of $15-20 will both be put towards drinks (Club Mate), and support the space.
This is a masks optional event.

Learn two main ways of performing projection mapping in TouchDesigner: 2D masking with KantanMapper and 3D mapping with CamSchnappProjection mapping is a technique that is used to turn objects, often irregularly shaped, into display surfaces for video projection. The objects may be complex industrial landscapes, such as buildings, small indoor objects, or theatrical stages. Using specialized software, a two- or three-dimensional object is spatially mapped on the virtual program which mimics the real environment it is to be projected on. In this course, we will take you through the whole projection mapping pipeline,using TouchDesigner from content creation all the way through projector setup and calibration. This course teaches you the two main ways of performing projection mapping in TouchDesigner: 2D masking with KantanMapper and 3D mapping with CamSchnappr.

Woody Poulard (aka GRNCH) is a Brooklyn-based artist/musician whose work focuses on generative audio-reactive visual installations and performances. He uses creative coding applications like TouchDesigner to generate real-time visuals, Blender for 3D design, and Ableton for music production. Trained in both audio and mechanical engineering, Woody also makes physical sculptures using digital fabrication techniques like 3D printing, laser cutting, and CNC routing. GRNCH’s visuals use elements of abstract, futuristic, and hypnotic scenery, often paired with his signature sound: dark, cinematic, suspenseful techno and broken beat.
