F.U.C.K – Frauen Und Computer Kram – richtet sich an alle Frauen (damit meinen wir Personen, die sich, zumindest hauptsächlich, als Frauen identifizieren), die sich für Computer, Hardware, Hacken, Basteln, Coden, Löten und allen anderen ähnlichen Kram interessieren.

Inspiriert von Heart of Code und dem CCC München wollen auch wir einen Raum schaffen, in dem Frauen sich frei von Ängsten und Vorurteilen über Computer Kram austauschen und lernen können – egal ob du noch ganz am Anfang stehst, oder schon mittendrin bist, du bist herzlich willkommen!

Das Brunch ist eine offene Veranstaltung und genau richtig um uns kennenzulernen, zu schauen was wir so machen und ganz zwanglos ne Runde zu quatschen!

Wie das funktioniert? Pad anschauen und euch und euern Brotbelag eintragen, vorbeikommen - Spass haben!

Harness the power of an Eplilog 60 Watt Laser! In this class you'll learn everything you need.These classes fill up, reserve your spot now! This is a special 2-student version of the class. Usually this class runs with 8 students.
Harness the power of an Eplilog 60 Watt Laser! In this class you'll learn everything you need to know to make the ideas in your head become a reality with a laser.
In this three hour class, we'll walk through all the steps from idea to pressing the "go" button on the laser. We'll cover safety and basic file preparation, and learn how to do a burninate test to find out if a material is laserable. After the three hours, you'll have made a dinosaur and a dog tag. There is lab time for laser cutting, questions and answers, and working with Inkscape or Adobe Illustrator.
After learning the basics, each student will create simple dinosaur and dog tag designs and cut and etch them on the laser! A $17 lab fee is included in the ticket price and covers your time on the laser cutter to cut and etch and the materials.
Please bring a laptop with either Inkscape or Adobe Illustrator installed and a USB jump drive. You may choose to upload and install Inkscape or a free trial of Adobe Illustrator before you come to class to get familiar with the software and start on a vector design project.
This class is required for coming in to do work on our laser independently. If you get inspired, you can come back and laser your objects on our Monday or Thursday Craft Nights. (NOTE: Our Craft Nights are now capacity capped and managed with a ticket system while we navigate the pandemic. See our website for more info.)
This class will be taught by NYC Resistor member Hannah. As with all NYC Resistor events, this class is 18+ and governed by our Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct, as well as accessibility information, can be found at www.nycresistor.com/participate/.

While the automation of religion may sound like science fiction, come learn about religious robots already out working in the world.While the automation of religion may sound like science fiction, examples exist of physical religious robots already built and spanning most major religions. Religious robots confront us about the boundaries of personhood, and can provide insights of on the intersections of technology, spirituality, and society. In this talk, you will hear about the real world robots, and hopefully it will inspire as many new questions as it answers.
This event will be online via Zoom, and tickets will be Pay-What-You-Wish.
This class will be taught by NYC Resistor member Kari Love. She teaches a 7 week class at NYU ITP called "Considering Religious Robots" and decided to do this more informal talk after many requests from non-students.
As with all NYC Resistor events, this class is governed by our Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct can be found at www.nycresistor.com/participate/.
The suggested price for this talk is $15. Refunds up to 24 hours before the event.

Public Viewing: Online-Vortrag "Licht aus - Nacht an" zur Earth Hour

Ganze Ökosysteme geraten durch Lichtverschmutzung ins Wanken: Da unsere Nächte durch den Einsatz von immer mehr Kunstlicht immer heller werden, verwässert der für viele Tiere und Pflanzen essentielle Hell-/Dunkelrhythmus zusehends, die unentbehrliche Dunkelheit der Nacht schwindet, vor allem in Städten. Die Folge: Das Leben der Tiere und Pflanzen gerät außer Takt. Es kann zu regelrechten "Burn-Out"-Erscheinungen kommen, letztlich sogar zu Artensterben.<br><br>Der Online-Vortrag mit dem bundesweit gefragten Experten Manuel Philipp von der Initiative "Paten der Nacht" findet anlässlich der Earth Hour 2022 statt, deren weltweites Schwerpunktthema dieses Jahr der Artenschutz ist. Im Vortrag erfahren wir mehr über die ökologischen Zusammenhänge und wie wir zur Eindämmung der Lichtverschmutzung beitragen können. Manuel Philipp ist Gründer der Initiative "Paten der Nacht" und Träger des bayrischen Umweltpreises und der bayrischen Umweltmedaille.<br><br>Sowohl für die Teilnahme vor Ort im Verschwörhaus als auch online bitten wir um Anmeldung, eine kurze Email an&nbsp;<a href="mailto:agendabuero@ulm.de" id="ow360" __is_owner="true">agendabuero@ulm.de</a>&nbsp;reicht aus.<br><br>Earth Hour weltweit<br>Infos zur weltweiten Earth Hour mit Lichtabschaltungen an zahlreichen Sehenswürdigkeiten rund um den Globus gibt es hier:&nbsp;<a href="http://www.earthhour.org/" id="ow364" __is_owner="true">earthhour.org</a>.
