Hiro comes and cleans every second Tuesday. Exact time may vary! Details are here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/163jM1miQumwFHkCdbsnnRuSEeQM3w1dJKx-Fr5Sli6k

In this class held over Zoom video conference, we’ll introduce Arduino and learn how to manipulate outputs based on sensor inputs. Topics covered What is Arduino?Software setup (IDE, how to program it, the Serial monitor)Reading schematics and wiring diagramsBasics of breadboardingControlling output (blinking/fading an LED)Reading sensor input (with a pushbutton, potentiometer and light sensor)Combining input and outputMaterials For this online class, you will need a basic electronics starter kit, an Arduino Uno or equivalent, and a USB cable. Ticket price does not include supplies! Pick up the following: Arduino Uno or compatibleUSB cable that matches your ArduinoParts Pal or similarArduino.cc official USA site is great too but their starter kit is overkill for this class. It is also possible to forego physical parts and use Tinkercad Circuits, though it may help to get familiar with the free software beforehand. Students should install some free software ahead of time: The Arduino IDEFTDI Driver (Mac High Sierra and later) SiLabs driver (Mac/PC)Zoom web conference software clientWho should take this class? Basic computer knowledge is assumed, and we'll refresh a few concepts from high school physics and math. No previous experience with coding or circuits is required. Online class size is extremely limited to provide the most opportunities for conversation and individual troubleshooting. OK, awesome, I want to join! Please be ready to start, with your webcams on, at 1pm ET! We find that you will need this time to get through the whole class. This class will be taught remotely by NYC Resistor member Becky Stern. As with all NYC Resistor events, this class is 18+ and governed by our Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct, as well as accessibility information, can be found at www.nycresistor.com/participate/. Please note that refunds must be requested 72 hours in advance. If you have any questions, please email classes@nycresistor.com.
