Soldering is one of the most important skills you'll need for working with electronics. Come join us for an introductory through-hole soldering workshop. Soldering enables you to create sturdy connections between electrical components.

In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn how to use a soldering iron safely and effectively, and get plenty of practice with both soldering and desoldering techniques. We'll be soldering up some Game of Life kits - LED tiles that generate nifty animations.

No previous experience is required, making this introductory workshop a great choice for anyone who's curious about getting started with hardware tinkering! All materials will be provided.

This class will be taught by Resistor members David Huerta and Eric Beug.

This is not your typical craft class.  Make-Along is a self-guided craft workshop where participants learn new skills, explore new materials and make great things! 
August's Topic:  Kokedama! And Macrame!
In this session we'll be exploring how to make lovely floating plant planets known as kokedamas, or moss balls, or awesome things you totally want to learn how to make. PLUS we'll time travel back to the 70's and show you some macrame techniques to make your kokedama hang in the most groovy kind of way.
Are you a beginner?  We'll provide materials for including moss, string, various plants, and inspiration. 
Are you a master?  Show off your skills and inspire others!  Bring a project, use our materials and hang out in a great space while doing what you love.

Wir treffen uns jeden zweiten Mittwoch zum Thema LoRaWAN/The Things Network (TTN). Im weiteren Sinne geht's also um dieses "Internet of Things" und darüber wollen wir nicht abstrakt faseln, sondern selber machen, ausprobieren was möglich ist und dann gerne auf dieser Basis philosophieren.

Dieser TTN-Mittwoch wird mit einem Vortrag von Michael eröffnet, der seine Studienarbeit über Energienetzautarker Betrieb von LoRa-Komponenten am Beispiel des intelligenten Haltestellensensors an der Hochschule Ulm vorstellt.

Kurzusammenfassung: Wie können LoRaWAN-Komponenten ohne Anschluss an das Stromnetz zuverlässig betrieben werden? Mit dieser Frage beschäftigt sich der Vortrag „Energienetzautarker Betrieb von LoRa-Komponenten am Beispiel des intelligenten Haltestellensensors“. Dabei werden vor allem die Grundlagen der Dimensionierung von photovoltaischen Systemen zum kontinuierlichen Betrieb elektronischer Lasten erörtert. In diesem Rahmen kommen sowohl die für einen kontinuierlichen Betrieb zwingend erforderlichen Energiespeicher wie auch die Möglichkeiten des Energiemanagements zur Sprache. Die theoretischen Erkenntnisse werden an einem ganz konkreten Beispiel, nämlich dem seit kurzem am Willy-Brandt-Platz befindlichen Haltestellensensor, in die Praxis überführt.
